Calum Walker has flip turned my world upside down.

From the moment he walked into the laundromat two months ago all the way until today, he’s been my knight in shining armor in every sense of the word.

That very first day he kissed me and took me for coffee and pie was the first day of the rest of my life and I never, ever want to return to life without my gentle giant.

“Earth to Pearl,” Scarlet says, waving her hand in front of my face. She brings the bedding from the bed and breakfast to the laundromat every week and we’ve become quite close. “Are you off dreaming about your man again?” she asks with a knowing smile.

I feign offense. “Are you daydreaming about Ajax the horse trainer?”

Scarlet scoffs. “As if. That man is a pain in my side. Wish he’d just find himself a girl who actually likes him.”

I narrow my eyes at Scarlet. “Is that why your cheeks get all pink when you see him? And why you’re all flushed talking about him now?”

“He makes me mad, that’s all.” Scarlet flips her long blonde hair over her shoulder. “Been coming into the bed and breakfast every damn day. Like I have time for the likes of him.”

“He’s awfully cute,” I say.

“He’s sex on legs is what he is,” Scarlet bites out, “but that doesn’t make him any less annoying or troublesome.”

“He must like you if he visits so much.”

“Likes to annoy me. That’s all.” Scarlet snaps her fingers. “Shoot, don’t think I’m going to forget about that look you had a while ago. Things going good with Daddy Marshal?”

I yelp and fling a hand over her mouth, glancing around the place to make sure no one heard. “Oh my God, don’t call him that,” I hiss.

Scarlet laughs. “What? He’s totally got that bad boy, sexy Daddy thing going on. I bet he wants to get all kinds of dirty with you.”

I feel heat all the way to the roots of my hair as I recall some of the dirty things Calum and I have gotten up to lately.

“Ohhhh,” Scarlet whispers. “You’ve been getting’ nasty with the marshal and not sharing your secrets?” She pops quarters into the dryer and turns it on before dragging me to the office and shoving me in a chair. “Spill, girl.”

Calum and I did nothing but kiss for quite a while, but curiosity and lust got the better of me one night and I told him I wanted to do more.

And damn, he showed me more.

“I’m not a kiss and tell type girl,” I tell Scarlet, my cheeks on fire.

“Have you let him fuck you yet?” she asks, blunt as ever.

“No,” I whisper yell.

But God, we’ve gotten so close and I want it so bad.

“Has he fingered you?” Scarlet asks.

Knowing I’ll never escape her questions, I decide to play along. Dying of embarrassment, I nod and she squeals.

“Okay, okay,” she continues. “Mmmm, I bet that was good. He looks like he’s got big, rough hands.
